MELLENCAMP SETS FALL TOUR DATES THROUGH 10 STATES
Bloomington, IN, Aug. 28 -- John Mellencamp will embark on a fall tour, bringing his songs, music and voice to arenas across 10 states in America's heartland. The tour kicks off October 26th continuing to mid-November for a total of 14 concert dates on its first leg.

Mellencamp and his touring band -the same group of musicians who record with him - will appear before audiences in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and his native Indiana. A broad spectrum of Mellencamp's repertoire, reflecting four decades of recording and performing, will be represented.

Mellencamp commented, "We're looking forward to playing these dates. The band is sounding great and our intention is to give audiences a fantastic show."

Mellencamp and the band, consisting of Mike Wanchic, (guitar), Andy York (guitar), Dane Clark (drums), John Gunnell (bass), Miriam Sturm (violin) and Troye Kinnett (keyboards) has been in Mellencamp's Belmont Mall studio, near Bloomington, IN, working on a new album project, as yet untitled, that is being produced by T Bone Burnett. It is expected that some of the unreleased songs from those sessions will be performed during the course of the upcoming tour dates.

Prior to the tour, Mellencamp will perform on NBC's NFL kickoff telecast on Thursday, September 6th before the Indiana Colts vs. New Orleans Saints' season opener. Following that, Mellencamp will journey to New York's Randall's Island where, on Sunday, September 9th, he will perform as part of this year's Farm Aid 2007: A Home Grown Festival along with his Farm Aid co-founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds plus The Allman Brothers Band, Counting Crows, Matisyahu, Guster, The Derek Trucks Band, Warren Haynes, Supersuckers, The Ditty Bops, Montgomery Gentry and others.

1. SHINDIG SIDE STAGE SEATING – The Fan Club will be offering EXCLUSIVE first access to seating in the side stage SHINDIG sections for $105 per ticket. Shindig seating will offer an up-close location to enjoy a unique view of John and his stellar band's performance! Each Shindig ticket will include a $20 voucher for use in the official John Mellencamp online store. Seats will be located within approximately eight rows of the stage - looking ACROSS the stage - and NOT directly in front of the stage.

2. PRESALE SEATING – These are seats in front of the stage starting in row 2 moving back through the venue, some of the best seats in the house! Exact seat locations are shown prior to purchase of the tickets. These tickets will be sold at face price plus applicable ticket, shipping, and handling fees. At most shows, tickets will be offered in the top two price levels, if not in all price levels. Please note at the shows being sold through Ticketmaster.com we have the majority of the best tickets available through our presale!

John to Guest on Real Time with Bill Maher THIS Friday on HBO
John is going to be a member of the panel on Friday, August 31st, on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher. The show premiers at 11 PM ET and repeats many times throughout the next week. John to Play NFL Season Opening Kickoff 2007
On Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8 PM ET, John will perform inside the RCA Dome in Indianapolis in celebration of the NFL season opening kickoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.  John's performance will be televised by NBC as part of their pre-game special. Faith Hill, Kelly Clarkson, and Hinder will also perform at a free concert in downtown Indianapolis as part of the pre-game festivities. Click HERE to read the full event press release.
